Latest known WhatsApp problems on Pixel 3

1

Why won't WhatsApp pair or connect with my Pixel Watch 3?

WhatsApp's Wear OS app links to your phone account rather than running fully on its own, so it has to be enrolled from the phone. Open WhatsApp on your Pixel, go to Settings > Linked devices > Link a device, and scan or approve the watch prompt. If it still fails, confirm the watch is connected in the Pixel Watch app, then on the watch open the Play Store and update WhatsApp and Wear OS, restart the watch, and try linking again. 2

Why is WhatsApp showing as obsolete or broken on my Pixel Watch 3?

WhatsApp drops support for older Wear OS builds, so an out-of-date version flags itself as obsolete and stops working. On the watch open the Play Store, tap your profile, choose Manage apps & device, and update WhatsApp; also apply Wear OS updates via the Pixel Watch app > System > System update. If no update is offered, uninstall WhatsApp from the watch and reinstall the current version. See how others solved this on Reddit

Why don't I get WhatsApp notifications on my Pixel Watch 3 while I'm using my phone?

By default Wear OS only sends alerts to the watch when your phone is locked or asleep, so nothing shows on your wrist while you're actively using the phone. This is expected bridging behavior; to see alerts on the watch while the phone is in use, lock or set down the phone. Also confirm WhatsApp isn't muted under the Pixel Watch app > Notifications, where you can review which apps are allowed to alert the watch. See how others solved this on Reddit
4

Why do WhatsApp notifications disappear from my Pixel Watch 3 too fast?

Wear OS syncs dismissals with your phone, so once a message is read or cleared on the paired Pixel it's also removed from the watch. Glancing at the phone first is usually what wipes it from your wrist. To keep alerts on the watch longer, leave messages unread on the phone, and make sure the Bluetooth connection between Pixel and watch is stable, since a brief drop can also clear the alert. 5

Why aren't WhatsApp notifications working at all on my Pixel Watch 3?

Watch notifications are bridged from the phone, so they fail if WhatsApp's phone-side notifications or the app's watch permission are off. On the Pixel go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Notifications and enable them, then in the Pixel Watch app open Notifications and confirm WhatsApp is allowed. If it's still stuck, toggle Bluetooth off and on or restart both devices to re-establish the connection. See how others solved this on Reddit

Why can't I send stickers or full replies in WhatsApp on my Pixel Watch 3?

The Wear OS version of WhatsApp is a trimmed-down client, so features like the full sticker library and richer message options are limited compared with the phone app. Make sure WhatsApp on the watch is fully updated through the Play Store, and for anything it can't handle, such as sending stickers or media, open the conversation on your paired Pixel instead. How to install WhatsApp on Pixel 3

1

Choose how to download

On your Pixel 3 you can get the official app two ways: from the Google Play Store — the easiest option, since it keeps WhatsApp updated automatically — or directly from the official website. You can download an APK file, by clicking a link “Download WhatsApp directly”.

2

Open WhatsApp

Launch WhatsApp from your home screen or app drawer and accept the Terms of Service to start setup.

3

Verify your phone number

Enter your phone number. If your Pixel 3 uses dual SIM, pick the line you want WhatsApp tied to, then enter the 6-digit code it sends by SMS — it usually fills in automatically.

4

Restore chats and finish setup

Restore your chat history from Google Drive (use the same Google account), add your name and photo, and tap Allow for notifications so messages and calls arrive reliably.

Stay safe: only ever install WhatsApp from the official Android source. The Download button above already points there — modified copies (GB/Plus/Aero WhatsApp) can get your number banned.

Hey there, it depends. WhatsApp drops support for very old systems over time. If the store still offers you the app, your phone is supported. Happy chatting!
