The WhatsApp Images folder is missing from my Redmi Note 12 Pro+ Gallery - where did my photos go?
Recent WhatsApp versions don't save received media to the public gallery by default, so the folder never gets created and indexed. In WhatsApp, go to Settings > Chats and turn on Media visibility, then in a specific chat tap the contact/group name and enable Media visibility for that chat too. Your existing photos are still inside Internal storage > Android > media > com.whatsapp > WhatsApp > Media > WhatsApp Images, which you can open with the Files app even if Gallery hasn't indexed them yet. The screen goes black during WhatsApp calls on my Redmi Note 12 Pro+ because of the proximity sensor - how do I fix it?
The proximity sensor blanks the screen when it thinks the phone is near your face, and it can misfire if it's blocked or dirty. Clean the area at the top of the screen near the earpiece and remove any screen protector or case covering it. You can test the sensor with the Xiaomi hardware test menu by dialing *#*#6484#*#* and selecting the proximity sensor test. Choose how to download
On your Redmi Note 12 Pro+ you can get the official app two ways: from the Google Play Store — the easiest option, since it keeps WhatsApp updated automatically — or directly from the official website. You can download an APK file, by clicking a link “Download WhatsApp directly”.

Open WhatsApp
Launch WhatsApp from your home screen or app drawer and accept the Terms of Service to start setup.

Verify your phone number
Enter your phone number. If your Redmi Note 12 Pro+ uses dual SIM, pick the line you want WhatsApp tied to, then enter the 6-digit code it sends by SMS — it usually fills in automatically.

Restore chats and finish setup
Restore your chat history from Google Drive (use the same Google account), add your name and photo, and tap Allow for notifications so messages and calls arrive reliably.
